Health Profile 2012 Indicators

The Health Profiles present 32 indicators at local authority level within England. The criteria for choosing the indicators included:

  • Important impact on the health of the population
  • Support for local authorities, NHS and partner agencies information needs
  • Is valid, measuring what it purports to measure
  • Is primarily based on existing indicators
  • Is available for all local authorities in England
  • Is amenable to meaningful comparison over time, place, person
  • Is relevant for a wide audience
