The SUTO (Service User Training Opportunities) courses were set up to train people who have used mental health services in the skills and knowledge to deliver and design training courses. The expectation was that a number of people completing these courses would then go on to deliver training in mental health organizations. The MWIA’s focused on the impact that these courses have on people’s mental well-being rather than whether they met their primary objectives of producing trainers.
